If you have kids or animals its a safe bet your walls need cleaned. Routine wall and woodwork cleaning levels up your overall cleaning routine. It does not matter how clean a house looks when your walls and baseboards are dirty, that's all I can see. There is nothing more back breaking than cleaning walls.

So, imagine how excited was I to see the Chomp Handle Dust Mop on my Facebook feed. Instantly, I went straight to amazon to place my order and anxiously awaited to tackle the walls in my stairwell... Why do my children touch the entire wall all the way up and down the steps??? Within 2 days I had my Chomp Handle Dust Mop.
Initial Impression
Immediately, I was impressed with the design. The mop was light weight and the unique design of the pad looks perfect for the baseboards and woodwork. There was also an insert for a bucket that allows you to rinse and extract that extra water. At this point I'm beyond excited to try it out but was a little skeptical because the material for the pad is cloth and not like a magic eraser. I also chose not to order the special wall cleaner that was available and recommended for purchase. We always use Awesome so, I don think any cleaner will beat that!!
Next, Clean that Soiled Wall!
I instantly sprayed the soiled area with my trusty awesome cleaner and followed the institutions on cleaning the wall. I did notice a slight issue with immovability, but this is my first time using the mop.
Initially, I was happy with the overall performance. My walls looked clean and my back was not strained. I did notice a stain in my arm, which I associate with the new technique. The wall looked amazing but, I am giving that win to the Awesome. A few days later I was feeling like a cleaning assassin walking into a labor intensive move in and out with very soiled walls. Unfortunately, I didn't get the results I expected. The base of the mop didn't flow comfortably across the wall or pick up the dirty prints, unless it was soaked with the awesome cleaner. So, I do think I prefer the results with our current system. Our current system consist of applying awesome, use of a magic eraser, then apply multipurpose cleaner and blend out with a cloth. So, now you know why I am searching for something less labor intensive and time consuming.
Pros and Cons
I quickly dismissed this mop for not getting the results I expected. The mop is hard to maneuver, and the pad is very thin.
I still need to implement a magic eraser to remove soiled areas. However, I have found it very beneficial to even out the soiled and clean areas. Also, doing a basic cleaning of the walls with the chomp handle does present a fresh and clean finish. The chomp handle is easy to take apart and efficiently stored for transport.
Final Verdict
Improving strategies and creating an effective systems to achieve an end goal is the key objective. I didn’t get the exact results I expected with the chomp handle, but I have found it to be a new addition to combating and maintaining walls, ceilings and baseboard. Overall, I would give the chomp handle rating 3.5 out of 5 stars.
However, for those labor intensive jobs I recommend adding a magic eraser, and awesome to your strategy and technique to achieve the best results. Please feel free to offer any advice for getting the most out of the chomp handle or any tips for a less labor intensive wall cleaning strategy. Comment below...
